Make Delicious Snacks and Meals with Lacto-Fermented Sauerkraut.

Salsa Sauerkraut Nachos

We've fermented the best of the summer season so you can enjoy the unrivaled flavors year-round. A traditionally prepared tomato salsa fermented together with shredded cabbage for a distinctive salsa kraut that elevates the zest and nutritional profile of any Mexican or Latin American dish. When you need a savory snack to satisfy that craving for chips and salsa, always top with an ingredient that offers functional food benefits. In addition to big flavor, Salsa Sauerkraut offers extra fiber, bioavailable nutrients from tomatoes, peppers and other ingredients, gut-loving microbes and natural digestive enzymes.

It’s not only culinary enjoyment that makes this combo so special, it’s also the flexibility. Adjust your ingredients to match your taste preferences and to include whatever you have on hand! Always add the Salsa Kraut as a last step after cooking to preserve active living cultures and beneficial enzymes. ENJOY!

INGREDIENTS

Tortilla Chips (you can cut up or toast whole tortilla too)

Black Beans OR Shredded Meat (Chicken, Pork or Beef)

BBQ Sauce

Cheese, grated

Greek Yogurt or Sour Cream

Kres Kitchen Salsa Sauerkraut

ADDITIONAL TOPPINGS WE LOVE:

Avocado

Diced Onions (you can cook with chips or add after cooking)

DIRECTIONS

Put as many tortilla chips as you’d like on the bottom of a baking dish, if you have whole tortillas toast them first, either cut them into triangles or whole in oven before assembling the toppings for baking.

Spread beans or shredded meat over the chips/tortillas. Drizzle BBQ sauce over the top then add shredded cheese. Bake for 10-20 minutes on 325° (this is all about how much crunch you want, so watch the oven not your phone!)

Remove the dish from oven. Top the gooey chips/tortillas with the yogurt and chopped uncooked sauerkraut, add optional toppings like avocado and onion.
